Colleen Flanigan

Marketing Specialist
Colleen Flanigan began her arts management career over 25 years ago in the box office at Michigan State University's Wharton Center while an undergraduate there. She came to Chicago in 1999 leading the Customer Relations team at Chicago Opera Theater (COT). In 2003, she became the Director of Advertising and Sales for the Goodman Theatre where she ran the day-to-day operations of the marketing department. She returned to COT in 2006 as their Director of Marketing and PR: her successes included a rebrand of the company, a new website, the largest number of subscribers in the company’s history, and a nationally recognized social media strategy. In 2012, she became the Chief Marketing Officer at the Auditorium Theatre. During her tenure at the Auditorium, she increased and diversified audiences, launched the Auditorium Theatre’s rebrand (2013), and greatly increased media coverage. As a member of the Auditorium Executive Leadership Team, she assisted in staff-reorganization, streamlining overall company processes, and sat on the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) Committee. In the community, Colleen regularly served on committees with the City of Chicago, the League of Chicago Theatres, and the Chicago Loop Alliance. She most recently served as Vice President and Marketing Chair on the board of See Chicago Dance, the local dance service organization. She also has regularly volunteered her time providing marketing consulting with smaller Chicago arts organizations.
